Former West DeFuniak Elementary students participated in a Senior Walk on Monday, May 15th. Students had their arms outstretched as the Walton High School seniors walked by in cap and gown. It was easy to see the benefits of this tradition. WHS seniors were setting an example for WDE’s students saying “one day, you too will be here.” Submitted by Darlene Paul.
Paxton Aerospace student Conner Varnum used Tinkercad to design a “claw” for his Seaperch underwater robot. The claw was printed on a 3D printer and fitted to the robot for use in an underwater challenge at the regional Seaperch competition. Submitted by Heather Stewart.
Paxton’s Aerospace instructor Heather Stewart recently attended a technical talk on the F35 presented by United States Air Force pilot Lt. Col. Tucker Hamilton. The distinguished lecture event, hosted by the Northwest Florida section of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, provided technical information about the progress of F35 testing, as well as Lt. Col. Hamilton’s flight text experience as an experimental fighter test pilot. Following the lecture, participants were provided a tour of the next generation aircraft at Eglin Air Force Base, where they saw first-hand the features of the new aircraft.
