SWHS is bringing Unity to their campus and showing a stance against bullying through the Kindness Rocks Project.  Plus, SWHS Principal, Dr. Alexis Tibbetts, issued a challenge to all students to sign the Unity Day pledge to stand together against bullying and be united for kindness, acceptance and inclusion. Over 450 students accepted that challenge and signed the pledge!  Submitted by Keitha Bledsoe.

Freeport High School Student Government Association participated in the Junior League of the Emerald Coast's Child Clothing Project. Students were shopping buddies, served lunch in the snack bar and handled the packing of busses with children's purchases. Over 200 elementary students attended today's event. The FHS Sunshine Band earned Straight Superior Ratings on Saturday, October 14th, at the Southern Showcase in Dothan, Alabama.  The overall score included the following ratings:  Superior Drum Major, Superior Colorguard, Superior Drumline, and Superior Band.  Congratulations to Mr. Miller, Miss Miller, and the members of the Sunshine Band for a great performance!

Come see the Sunshine Band this coming Saturday, October 21st, at Arnold High School, performing at the Florida Bandmasters Association District 2 Marching Music Performance Assessment.  The band will perform at 3:30! Submitted by Celeste Goodwin.

Walton County Fair was humming with the sweet sounds of WCSD voices as the West Defuniak Elementary "BeeBops"; Mossy Head "Headliners"; Freeport Elementary "Sophisticats"; Paxton "Sound of the Pride"; and Maude Saunders "Kids of Distinction" sang their hearts out on the Main Stage area of the fair Wednesday evening!

Thursday night, audiences in the Main Stage area were treated to the beautiful voices of the Walton Middle School and Walton High School Chorus students!

Congratulations to all these fine musicians, their parents, and their teachers for an EPIC job sharing their talents at the Walton County Fair!
