By Cathy Mosley
The Walton Middle School Student Council, Builder and Beta Clubs recently sponsored a food drive of non-perishable items. This food drive was meant to help families in need to have a good Thanksgiving. WMS students and staff together collected 1,525 items.
Families First Network of Lakeview informed WMS that, with the food items collected, they would be able to give food to about 20 families in need.
The Food Drive not only helped local families have a nice holiday meal, it also helped students understand the benefits of helping the less fortunate.
WMS FOOD COLLECTION volunteers included (L-R, kneeling) Abby Weeks, Jena Adams, Caslyn Cole, Haleigh Permenter and Shimaya White. Standing, (L-R) Krislynn McLaney and Rileigh Council.
