The Wedding of “Q” and “U”

Congratulations to Mr. Q and Little Mrs. U on their beautiful marriage! Once upon a time, in Alphabet land, Mr. Q was without a sound of his own. Mr. Q met Little Miss U and their fairytale began; they learned they could make so many words together.

What a wonderful event! Mrs. Redfern’s kindergarten class prepared for the Q and U wedding! The students created fancy attire with crowns and top hats. The class decorated a wedding runner for the letters to walk down the aisle. Mr. Q and Little Miss U exchanged vows to promise to stand by each other in words like quarter and quack. At the reception, the students ate wedding cake and danced. Submitted by Elizabeth Gaither.

Earlier this month, our Emerald Coast Middle School 8th graders attended an orientation at South Walton High School.  They toured the school, listened to very informative presentations, and prepared their class registration forms for their upcoming freshman year.  While we hate to see them leave us at ECMS, we know they are eager and prepared to meet the challenges of high school.  We wish our future Seahawks the best of luck as their journey continues. Coach Nick, Deputy McCormick and Mr. Drake all received pies in the face from the Jump Rope for Heart Winners. Everybody raised so much money for JRFH. Awesome job! Submitted by Sherrie Binkowski.

Ms. Tate wished to acknowledge Walton County School District students for their participation in a Student-Led Habitat Restoration in the Choctawhatchee Watershed.  Walton County students have been growing grass for the Bay and Coastal Lakes in the area.  Last month Walton County Students were recognized in Atlanta, Georgia at the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation Grant Recipient Luncheon with a plaque and last night Walton County School District was presented with a recognition certificate.
