On Thursday, April 14^th Van R. Butler Elementary was filled with mad scientists. Students had the opportunity to complete several science experiments. After completing their experiments, students were able to create and eat a “magic potion”.

The Florida Chautauqua awarded Mrs. Powell's Economics class a Certificate of Recognition and a $25 check for their Chautauqua Assembly exhibit "Game Board Entertainment vs. Electronic Games." The presentation placed second in the People's Choice Award and was rated as Outstanding by Assembly Judges.

Walton Middle School's Science Club took a trip to WonderWorks in Panama City Beach, on Tuesday, April 5th, 2016.  Students and staff had a spectacular time!

Freeport High School, South Walton High School, and Walton High School youth leadership students participated in a "Shark Tank" event sponsored by the Walton Chamber of Commerce.  The event was held at 4Cs BBQ Restaurant for the Chamber's First Friday Breakfast on April 8th.  A group from each school presented a business plan that they collaboratively developed.  All of the students should be commended for their hard work as it was evidenced by their presentations. However, based on the financial numbers presented by Freeport High School, the Chamber determined their business plan was most feasible. Congratulations FHS!
