Every year at SWHS, we host a variety of local professionals in their vested careers. This allows for all branches of the military to be represented.

SWHS strives to be an academically strong campus. This is possible by our efforts to embrace all of our students individual learning needs. We proudly "LINK TOGETHER" to provide the BEST learning experience for all students!

Every year at SWHS, we identify where all of our seniors are heading to after graduation. We always have multiple students embracing the call to serve our country!
Student Led Transition Program
At South Walton High School, we strive to support all students, but especially our military students as they transition to a new environment. A few of the things we do to ensure things go smoothly:
We meet individually with the student and family during the enrollment process and involve various student leaders.
We provide a tour of SWHS to help familiarize our new family to the campus.
Resources and Opportunities
Academic Planning at SWHS
Exceptional Student Education (ESE)
Individual Education Plan (IEP) teams carefully assess and determine the most appropriate Exceptional Student Education (ESE) program placement based on each student's unique needs. School administrators use these insights to assign students to the most suitable classrooms and teachers. Specially designed instruction will be delivered by an ESE teacher or other qualified service provider in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE), as outlined by the IEP team. Typically, this instruction will occur within the regular education classroom alongside non-disabled peers. However, some students may require a separate learning environment for part of the day. Any changes to a student's placement will involve a review by the IEP team. Our district offers a broad continuum of services to support all students effectively.
Upcoming Military Events at SWHS
At SWHS, we honor our Veterans and Military guests with various pep rallies throughout the fall and spring semesters. All sports teams also honor Veterans and Military members at various home games throughout each season.
We also host a Veteran's Day program every year to recognize and promote the service and dedication of those who have defended our country.
